For warehouse operators — founding member
Make your warehouse readable by AI search tools and search engines.
A growing number of logistics teams start with ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google’s AI overview — and those tools answer from what they can read. Most warehouse sites never state the clear height, the certifications, or what’s open right now. We publish yours as facts they can read, from the day you list.

Email the teamBuyers aren’t searching for warehouses the way they used to. They’re going straight to AI assistants like ChatGPT. Even a regular Google search now leads with an AI overview before showing results.
All of them answer from what they can read. None of them can read a phone call, a PDF brochure, or a paragraph on your site that never mentions your clear height. We wrote up how this is playing out →
The part nobody does twice: keeping it current.
Most warehouse websites never publish the specifics — clear height, certifications, temperature ranges — anywhere a machine can read them. A developer can add that to your own site once, for somewhere between a few hundred and a couple of thousand dollars.
What almost nobody does is update it. Every certification renewal, every customer who moves out, every service you add means editing the markup again, and markup claiming you’re SQF certified eighteen months after the certification lapsed is worse than no markup at all. If nobody owns keeping it current, it quietly rots.
Here, the form is the structured data. You change a field — available square footage, a new certification — and what gets published changes with it. That is what the $25 a month buys, and it is why this is a subscription rather than a one-time fee.
Even if you have your own site, a claim on your own website is a claim about yourself. The same specifications on an independent directory are a second source saying the same thing — which is what search engines and AI assistants weight when deciding what to rely on.

The shipper who needs FDA-registered cold storage with pick-and-pack and 24/7 receiving isn’t googling “warehouse near me” — they’re filtering on specific capabilities.
Shippers filter on what they actually need — and find you on the specifics that set your facility apart.
The listings on American Warehouse Index carry that depth. When a shipper’s requirements line up with your facility, they reach you directly — no form in the middle, no lead resold to four competitors.
Every field is a filter a shipper can use. Every chip is data an AI assistant can read.

Public on the open web. Not locked behind a login.
Many warehouse directories paywall their search — listings are visible only to whoever paid for an account on that platform, which is a much narrower audience than the open web. We’re the opposite. Your listing is public on americanwarehouseindex.com— structured so search engines like Google and Bing and AI assistants like ChatGPT can find and read it. No login wall, no platform between you and the shipper.
Your warehouse also gets its own fixed URL on the directory — americanwarehouseindex.com/warehouse/your-facility — that you can share in emails, link from your own site, and point AI assistants at directly. The URL doesn’t change; the structured data behind it stays current.

Why we built this
Put simply, we struggled to find warehouses that matched our needs.
We Googled, scanned websites, and cold-called to confirm fit — and the directories we tried hadn’t solved it. They were partial, skeletal, or both. So we built American Warehouse Index to remove that friction on both sides: when your capacity, certifications and services are published as filterable facts, a buyer can rule you in or out before they call — instead of working down a list, hoping.
Shippers contact you directly.
We don’t intermediate, route through forms, or take a cut.
American Warehouse Index comes out of years on the buying side of warehousing — running the same search from the other direction. It’s independent: no broker, carrier, 3PL, or real-estate firm has a stake in it. Founding members get direct access — every email reaches a real person.
