About

A public directory of American warehouses, paid for by the warehouses.

American Warehouse Index lists U.S. warehouse and 3PL facilities by what they actually do — location, square footage, certifications, temperature ranges, services, equipment — so a shipper can filter for the specifications they need and contact the operator directly. No middlemen, no referral fees, no forms in between.

How we make money

Warehouse operators pay $25 per listing per month, or $210 a year. That is the entire business. There is no advertising, no sponsored placement, no commission on deals, no charge per inquiry, and nothing is earned from selling data about anyone — operators or the buyers who search.

We say this first because it is the real question behind “who are you.” A directory that makes its money some other way has a reason to do things you won’t like, and you generally find out what that reason was later. Ours is printed on the pricing page.

What we will never do

These are commitments, not marketing. Each one is something you can check, and something you should hold us to.

  • We don't sell or share your contact details.

Your phone number and email appear on your listing so buyers can reach you directly. They are not sold, rented, syndicated, or handed to a lead broker. Our privacy policy says the same thing in more formal language.

  • We don't take a commission or charge per lead.

If a shipper finds you here and you close a deal worth six figures, we are still paid $25 that month. We never see the deal, and we don't want a percentage of it.

  • We don't put ourselves between you and the buyer.

There is no inquiry form that routes through us, and no rule against a buyer simply calling you. That is the point of the directory, not a feature we plan to remove later.

  • We don't hide listings behind a login.

Your page is on the public web where anyone — a shipper, a broker, a search engine, an AI assistant — can read it without an account.

  • We don't sell placement, and we don't rank by who pays more.

Every listing costs the same. Results are narrowed by the buyer's own filters and ordered by what they chose — distance, size, or name. Payment is never an input.

  • We don't write about vendors who pay us.

3PL Signal takes no sponsorship and runs no paid placements. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on the article, not in a footer.

Where we actually are

American Warehouse Index launched in 2026 and is early. Coverage is thin, and a search in most markets will return few results or none. We would rather say that plainly than let you find out by typing in your own city.

What that means for an operator listing now: you are early enough that your facility may be the only one in your metro on the page, and the founding-member terms reflect the risk you’re taking on a directory that is still filling up. What it means for a shipper: check back, and tell us what you couldn’t find.

What we publish

We write 3PL Signal — currently 25 guides for people who run warehouses. Lease terms and what they cost you. Auditing a 3PL billing statement. Running a WMS selection without getting sold to. Cycle counting from scratch. OSHA’s heat rules.

It is free, takes no sponsorship, and requires no account. If you want to judge whether the people behind this directory understand warehousing before you give us $25, that is the honest place to look — it is harder to fake than an About page.

Who you’re dealing with

American Warehouse Index is operated by Greenhood LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company doing business as American Warehouse Index. It is independently owned — no brokerage, no carrier, no 3PL, and no real-estate firm has a stake in it, which is why no listing can buy its way up the results.

It comes out of years on the buying side of warehousing — sourcing space, comparing facilities, and cold-calling to confirm a fit. That is the search you are trying to be found in, and this directory is built from having run it from the other direction.

We keep the operation lean on purpose, so email reaches someone who can actually change something. We answer within one to two business days.

Our privacy policy and terms say the same things in the language lawyers prefer.
